i-DOPPELGäNGER: Portrait of the Comic Book Editor in the 21st Century by Shelly Bond

$25.00

176 pages. 6.75″ X 10.25”. full color.

In the final part of her Graphic Memoir Trilogy, Shelly Bond shares secret histories of the hits including FABLES,  iZOMBIE, and BODIES, the latter two became successful tv series, as well MINX, the first graphic novel line for teenage girls, and YOUNG ANIMAL, Gerard Way’s pop-up comics imprint. Corporate layoffs forced Bond out of Vertigo in 2016 after 22 years of service, but lead to more innovative ventures in both the creation of BLACK CROWN and OFFREGISTER.PRESS, the comics & design lab she runs with her husband, British artist Philip Bond.

Featuring art by Imogen Mangle and Lid Thom, i-DOPP includes chapter timelines, rare photos and anecdotes about the dozens of titles Bond edited, satirical short comics about the industry, and Confirm/Deny interviews with Vertigo fan-favorites including Grant Morrison, Steven T. Seagle, Gail Simone, and Michael Allred.

This softcover edition was released in December 2025,  features French flaps, and was made possible by thousands of Kickstarter backers.
