Steve Lafler collects a pair of graphic novellas tracking edgy urban romances, Cat Suit and El Vocho. We get hot cars, cute dresses, and hilarious pranks. The artist throws in his signature inversion of time and space for good measure—a prescient peak under the hood of reality as we know it (at least for now!)
Best of all, there’s a bonus story, El Diablito, featuring that guy with multiple names: Beezlebub, Old Scratch, Satan, Lucifer, Mephistopheles, el Diablo… they’re all the same guy and he’s out to mess with you.

Steve Lafler Bio:
Ever the maverick marching to his own beat, comics auteur Steve Lafler has several graphic novels to his credit, including “Crazy for You” from Fantagraphics (2026), “Death Plays a Mean Harmonica”, a fictional report on his years living in Oaxaca, Mexico, and “BugHouse From the Top’” an imagined history of bebop jazz realized with an all-insect cast. Lafler enjoyed long runs of his improvised Dog Boy comic magazine, and the jaunty, unhinged Buzzard anthology.
